ΚΥΘΗΡΕΙΑ

Or Cythera, Cytherias (Kuthêra, Kuthêrias), different forms of a surname of Aphrodite, derived from the town of Cythera in Crete, or from the island of Cythera, where the goddess was said to have first landed, and where she had a celebrated temple.
