ΓΟΡΤΥΣ

1. A son of Stymphalus, and founder of the Arcadian town of Gortys. (Paus. viii. 4. § 5.)

2. A son of Tegeates and Maera, who, according to an Arcadian tradition, built the town of Gortyn, in Crete. The Cretans regarded him as a son of Rhadamanthys. (Paus. viii. 53. § 2.)
