1. A patronymic from Naubolus, and accordingly applied to his sons, Iphitus (Hom. Il. ii. 518) and Clytoneus (Apollon. Rhod. i. 135).

2. It also occurs as the name of a Phaeacian. (Hom. Carm. viii. 116.)
